Experience
 
Nur holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA). She has working experience with children in the Netherlands and in Singapore. She is a registered occupational therapist in both countries.

Nur’s experience includes working as a special education teacher at Rainbow Centre and as an occupational therapist in other therapy centres in Singapore. In the Netherlands, she was involved in projects to help children in primary schools develop skills such as writing skills and used to work with children at Stichting Omega. She was also an apprentice working with Cordaan, the national healthcare organisation in the Netherlands.

She enjoys working with children, helping them in the various areas in their development such as attention span, gross motor skill, handwriting skill and social skill. She works closely with parents and also does school visits, working with teachers to give the best educational environment for the child. She also believes that every child should have the chance to succeed in their dreams. Using her knowledge as an occupational therapist, she also actively volunteers in variety of community organisations.

She has attended many courses and is adept in implementing the various intervention modalities such as:

  • Cogmed Professional Training Course v3.0
  • Handwriting without Tears ® (HWOT)
  • The Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP)
  • Assessing and implementing interventions for children with handwriting difficulties
  • The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
  • Sensory integration interventions
  • Interactive Metronome (IM)
  • Implementation of programmes working on visual skills, to aid in academic skills, such as the Tracking and Perceptual Skills for Occupational Therapist (TPOT) programme
