Experience

Lucia graduated from the Universidad Metropolitana, Colombia in 2000. She gained a degree specializing in occupational therapy. Lucia has school based experience, both as an occupational therapist as well as a teacher. She has had much experience working with children from the ages of two (2) to fourteen (14) years. Her role as a school-based occupational therapist was to assess and provide intervention to children who were not able to meet their learning potential. In addition, she was also tasked with developing early intervention programs to help prevent learning differences. 

Lucia and her husband and children moved to Singapore in 2011. Being a mother to two teenagers and a young toddler, Lucia has invaluable experience relating to clients and their parents/guardians. Clients in their early primary to teenage years find it easy to converse with Lucia. She has a calm, open and non-judgemental approach in her communication with them. 

Invested in meeting her life-long learning goals, Lucia is working towards graduating from her Master of Arts in Counselling program at the Singapore Trinity Christian Centre by the end of 2016. This course has further enriched her knowledge and provided her with a wider range of experience. She is truly a compassionate and grounded therapist, determined to help clients make a difference in their lives.

In our clinical setting, Lucia sees children with Dysfunction of Sensory Integration, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Dyspraxia, and William’s Syndrome.
