Inthu is an occupational therapist who graduated from La Trobe University, Australia and Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore.

Inthu’s passion for working with children and a strong inclination to do meaningful work lead her to be a pediatric occupational therapist. Her clinical experience has seen her working with children with varied special needs and learning differences, both at clinical and school settings. She has a special interest in coaching children and teenagers in the areas of play, engagement, motivation, social skills and socio-emotional development. She has tailored her professional training towards specialization in these aspects and continues to actively participate in training to gain further experience in supporting children in their social capacities. As an OT, she also assists children with sensory integration and motor planning needs to facilitate the individual’s functional participation across various settings.

She firmly believes that parents and caregivers play an essential role in facilitating their children’s progress and in supporting them to function at their best. Hence, there is always close collaboration with the family and other professionals working with the child and emphasis on parent education and involvement in the child’s intervention process. She is mindful that each individual child has both strengths and challenges and adopts a holistic approach to therapy.

She values continued professional development to ensure the best form of support is provided. She is constantly on the lookout for resources to advance her skills and knowledge. She has also given talks for parents and teachers on topics of Floortime approach and social skills development. She has obtained training in:

  • Social Thinking by Michelle Garcia Winner
  • DIR Floortime Approach
  • Talkabout Program (social skills training)
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for children and adolescents
  • Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP)
