Li Leng graduated from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Degree.

She has worked in both the public and private sector in Singapore. She has been a valued part of our team at KIDZ Pediatric Occupational Therapy since the beginning of 2018. She works with clients who experience differing diagnoses. These include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Down Syndrome, Global Development Delays and other developmental issues. Her practice focuses on equipping clients and their families with strategies to help them meet their potential.

Li Leng has also applied herself as an occupational therapist at Guillemard Gardens School, a special school under the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS). There, Li Leng was responsible for setting up therapy services and acquiring resources for the school population, ranging from 4 to 18 years old. The services she rendered included facilitating students’ engagement and performance in pre-writing, handwriting, pre-vocational and sensory-motor areas. Li Leng also initiated home visits to exchange insights with parents on their child’s occupational behaviour and functional level in context. Li Leng’s areas of specialisation are in:

  • Brain Gym
  • Canadian Occupational Performance Measure
  • Sensory Integration
  • Neurodevelopmental Training (Paediatrics)
  • Vestibular Activation
  • Course OT 610 (Specialised Sensory Integration offered by the University of Southern California)

Being a mother of three, Li Leng has gained immense insights on child development and parent-child interaction. In addition, she is well-placed to understand the daily challenges parents face while juggling child rearing and household matters. The experience has also honed her ability to empathise with parents, who are concerned with guiding their children and realising the latter’s fullest potential.

Li Leng has a passion to improve lives, especially to enhance parents’ and caregivers’ understanding of their children and see the person beyond the diagnosis or learning challenge.
